That's why we're proud to offer our unique Discovery Lab Program, designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students after school and on weekends, whether they attend school at Brookstone or elsewhere in the community.
Our Discovery Lab Program is a natural extension of our commitment to the holistic development of every child in our care. At Discovery Lab a child can truly "let their down" and have fun, while learning more about what interests them. Here's what you can expect from our program:
Safe and Supervised Environment: Our dedicated staff members ensure that your child is safe and well-supervised at all times. We maintain a secure environment with low student-teacher ratios where children can thrive and parents can have peace of mind.
Enriching Activities:
From STEM and the arts to technology, outdoor exploration, games, and hands-on creation, our programs offer a wide range of engaging experiences designed to spark curiosity and keep students actively involved. Children can explore robotics and Arduino, build and create with our extensive LEGO collection, experiment in our recording studio, take part in art and maker activities, enjoy board games and collaborative challenges, and spend time outdoors exploring, playing, and being active.
Our programming is designed to give students choice and variety while supporting creativity, problem-solving, social connection, confidence, and physical activity. Whether a child loves building, inventing, performing, creating, gaming, exploring, or simply spending time with friends, there is always something meaningful to engage with.
Healthy Snacks: We provide nutritious snacks to keep your child fueled and focused throughout the afternoon/evening. Our snacks are carefully selected to promote healthy eating habits.
Community, Friendship & Socialization: All of our programs are designed to foster a strong sense of community, belonging, and friendship. Students have opportunities to connect with peers, build meaningful relationships, practise communication and cooperation, and grow their confidence in social settings. It is a welcoming space where friendships develop naturally, shared experiences create lasting memories, and children can strengthen important social skills while feeling accepted for who they are.
Flexibility: We know every family’s schedule is different, so our program is flexible by design. Programs run weekday evenings from 4:00–8:00 p.m. and on weekends in 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 1:00–3:00 p.m. time blocks. Families can choose the number of hours that works best for them, attend occasionally, or register for a full program block at a reduced rate. This gives students access to enriching, interest-based activities without requiring a fixed weekly commitment.
Homework Assistance Option: We also understand the frustration that comes with trying to fit in time for homework help at home! This is why we also offer homework assistance to support your child's learning journey. Our staff members are available to provide guidance and support with homework assignments and projects.
Tutoring Options: You can also choose to add in more formal individualized tutoring sessions, as per your child's needs.
